I painted this large-scale piece as an exploration of artificial intelligence and surveillance. The painting depicts a crowd of 11 faces produced by artificial intelligence along with me and 3 of my friends, all staring back at the viewer, some holding up smartphone cameras. To the average person, the real individuals pictured in this piece are indistinguishable from the AI-generated ones, highlighting the technology’s ability to deceive.
